Dear Waxhaw Community,
I would like to introduce myself as a new member of the Waxhaw faculty. I am thrilled to be a part of the team, especially in such a warm and growing school.
I was previously at Benton Heights Elementary for more than six years. While at Benton Heights I served in numerous roles such as: reading specialist, teacher, and administrator. I have teaching experience with a wide array of students from first grade through fourth grade and very much enjoyed my time in the class as interventionist and instructor. I can often be found in classrooms and feel that it is important for me to be an instructional leader first. I am now in my seventh year of education and look forward to the new challenges and successes that my new placement will bring.
My education began in nearby Cabarrus County, where I was born and raised. I later received Bachelor's degrees in both Elementary Education and Reading Education from Wingate University. I have also completed my Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Winthrop University. In addition, I have received training at Clemson Univeristy, Western Carolina University, Campbell Unviersity, Lesley University, and numerous other institutions. I continue to strive for betterment and will seek out opportunities for both my growth and the improvement of Waxhaw Elementary.
As both a teacher and an administrator, I have always felt strongly that given the time and opportunity all students can succeed. Due to this deep seeded belief I will work to make sure that the needs of all students are met.
I currently reside in Union County with my wonderful husband, Matthew, and the one year old son I have been blessed with, Jaxson. In my time away from school I enjoy sharing with my family, running, reading, and bargain shopping.
I look forward to meeting and building relationships with the spectacular members of the Waxhaw community!
